Mercedes is home to semi-tropical temperatures, and short, mild winters. It is the perfect environment for outdoor recreation and sports, as well has many industries. 
  • The average annual temperature for the Rio Grande Valley hovers at 72 degrees Fahrenheit. (50 F in the heart of winter, 97 F in the hottest days of summer.)
  • Mercedes summers are tempered by offshore winds from the Gulf of Mexico. These summer breezes are especially present in the evening.

  • On average, 18 to 20 inches of precipitation fall in Mercedes per year.
